Achievements

Braeburn provides an education that allows all children within its care to grow up happily, and at the same time to be equipped with the social, behavioural, intellectual, and life skills needed for them to be an asset to their families, communities and friends in adulthood, to be ambitious enough to succeed personally and professionally and to be ready to live a fulfilling life.

Academic results are key to each stage of your child’s life, so at Braeburn we work as a team to ensure that the results earned by each pupil are a true reflection of the best they can possibly achieve. Standardised tests are used to create aspirational targets for each individual pupil and we work with our pupils to ensure they are met. This hard work results in excellent outcomes. Across our schools, with a non selective intake, over three quarters of all IGCSE grades awarded are A*-C and of those, 35% are either A or A*.

In the Sixth Form, Years 12 and 13, the alternative paths to university offered in Braeburn schools ensure that all students find a sixth form challenge suited to their strengths. This results in all students who want to go to university, obtaining offers from universities of their choice. Sixth form students can opt for the demanding International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme IBDP ( in 2015 97% earned a full diploma), or A-Levels that allow specialisation in areas of strength related to future careers, or BTEC that enhances skills valued in the workplace, university and life.

At Braeburn we recognise that every student is an individual with unique requirements and we create individualised study programmes that may combine A-Levels and BTEC, or IB and BTEC components to meet these needs. In fact, Braeburn Garden Estate is the first school in Africa to introduce the International Baccalaureate Career Related Programme.

The success of Braeburn’s approach to education in the Sixth form is shown by the placement of our students in universities across the world.
